Watts Farms NHS Staff Food Collaboration

Early into the COVID19 pandemic Watts Farms reached out to our local NHS trust to offer a lorry full of essential items to hospital staff. The main reason behind this was to say thank you to the staff and enable them to take home the food they need after a busy 12 hour shift without having to que up at a supermarket. They also had some surplus food items going out of date that needed a good home.

Our director, a former medic, has a lot of friends working in these hospitals on the front lines and recently had a new born baby delivered at Pembury so it is also personal thank you to those staff and the care he and his wife received.

Watts Farms first event was at Maidstone hospital last week and it went really well. Roughly 300 staff came to the lorry to get supplies. Some of them had just finished a long shift and were incredibly grateful. “It was really nice to do a good deed like this and feel like we are playing our part in helping during this awful pandemic.” Ed Gray - Director

Since the pandemic took affect Watts Farms has pivoted from supplying restaurants and hotels to supplying the public directly with contactless home deliveries.

They are offering this service from their Aylesford depot in a 35 mile radius. Currently offering fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, eggs and groceries they are providing 500 daily deliveries of much needed items to people struggling to get deliveries.
